Disney Store Kyoto Porta is set to have its grand opening on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, inside Kyoto Porta in Kyoto City. To celebrate the opening, the store will offer exclusive items and a gift campaign for shoppers.
A Special Store Design Blending Disney Magic and Japanese Aesthetics
The new store is themed around a dream world conjured by Mickey Mouse in his role as the "Sorcerer's Apprentice," with Japanese design elements woven throughout. Guests are welcomed at the entrance by a Mickey Mouse statue dressed in a Japanese-patterned costume. Inside, cherry blossom petal motifs adorn the floors and ceilings, and shoji-inspired decorations create a distinctly Kyoto atmosphere for an immersive shopping experience.
The store carries around 1,200 Disney and Pixar items, including Disney Store originals such as "UniBEARsity," "UniBestiez," and the plush series "Urpochachan," alongside lifestyle goods, snacks, apparel, and collaborative products with popular brands.

Kyoto Porta Store-Exclusive Items
To commemorate the grand opening, the store will release items exclusive to Kyoto Porta. The lineup features stuffed toys and plush keychains of iconic historical figures associated with Kyoto — "Ushiwakamaru" and "Musashibo Benkei" — brought to life through Disney characters. Mickey Mouse appears as Ushiwakamaru playing a flute, while Goofy appears as Benkei holding a flag bearing the character for "Kyoto." The "Urpochachan" series also joins with plush versions of Mickey and Goofy. These items make for perfect souvenirs or collector's pieces that capture Kyoto's historic spirit.
