Dragon Quest Island Remake Launches April 24 at Nijigen no Mori on Awaji Island, Featuring New Zenithian Trilogy Sub-Quest

The popular Dragon Quest Island attraction at anime park Nijigen no Mori on Awaji Island is getting a major update. To mark the 40th anniversary of the Dragon Quest series and the 5th anniversary of Dragon Quest Island, the remake version — Dragon Quest Island: Ancient Demon and the Guided Adventurers — will begin on Friday, April 24, 2026.

Alongside the remake launch, a newly created sub-quest called "The Foreign Prince and the Mysterious Stone Tablets" will also start at the same time. In this sub-quest, the Zenithian Trilogy-themed world at the heart of the main quest intersects with an adventure in a different world, delivering a story that fans of the series won't want to miss.

How the Sub-Quest Works

Adventurers who take on the sub-quest start by choosing one of three stone tablets — the Yellow Tablet, Blue Tablet, or Red Tablet — and then searching the attraction area to collect fragments of their chosen tablet. Once the fragments are assembled, players are transported to a new world. What awaits them there is a surprising crossover between characters from across the Dragon Quest series — a first for Dragon Quest Island.
