Sandō Ebi Ebinoya Konpira, a natural shrimp specialty shop located at the 22nd step of the Konpiragu approach in Kagawa Prefecture, is adding a new item to its menu: the "Premium Shrimp Cheese Arare Fry." The product goes on sale Sunday, March 29, and will be sold in limited quantities each day.
Premium Shrimp Cheese Arare Fry
The new item is a spin-off of the shop's popular "Sandō Ebi no Arare Age" (approach shrimp arare fry), now featuring a mozzarella cheese filling sourced from Italy. Biting into the freshly fried arare (rice cracker) coating releases melted cheese that combines with the rich umami of shrimp. For this cheese-filled version, the outer arare coating has been reworked to achieve a crispier, more fragrant texture.
Each piece is made using 5 to 6 natural shrimp — a generous amount that reflects the shop's specialty.
