French Bloom Launches in Japan on April 1 with Enoteca as Official Distributor

French Bloom, a French sparkling wine-taste beverage brand with 0.0% alcohol by volume, is coming to Japan. Wine retailer Enoteca Co., Ltd. has concluded an official distribution agreement, with sales of four labels across six products launching on April 1.

French Bloom was founded in 2019 by Rodolphe Frerejean Taittinger — a great-grandson of the founder of Champagne Maison Taittinger — together with his wife Maggie, a former Michelin Guide director, and model Constance Jablonski. The idea arose during Maggie's pregnancy, when she and Constance noticed the lack of a glamorous wine-taste beverage suitable for celebratory occasions. The trio set out to develop what they describe as a "gourmet wine-taste beverage" made entirely from natural ingredients.

Drawing on Rodolphe's champagne-making expertise, the brand spent more than four years in research and development and conducted over 200 trials to establish its proprietary de-alcoholization process, which preserves the aroma and flavor of the wine while bringing the alcohol content to 0.0% (note: trace amounts below 0.1% may remain due to the raw ingredients). French Bloom is now available in more than 60 countries and has been adopted by numerous Michelin-starred restaurants and five-star hotels worldwide.

The grapes used are organic Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grown in Limoux, southern France — a region known for its significant diurnal temperature variation and its limestone-clay soils, which contribute a pleasant crispness, balance, and complexity to the wines. For the higher-tier cuvées, a portion of the base wine is also aged in new Burgundy oak barrels.

Le Blanc

Le Blanc

Le Blanc is characterized by a multi-layered aroma of concentrated fruit — pear, ripe apple, white peach, apricot, and mandarin orange — layered with notes of candied fruit, honey, and flowers. On the palate, creamy bubbles deliver gentle sweetness from fresh fruit, lively acidity, and a long mineral finish. It received the top prize in the Carbonation Category at the World Sparkling Wine Awards 2023.

Le Rosé

Le Rosé

Le Rosé features a vibrant, delicate fragrance combining the fruit aromas of white peach, apricot, and raspberry with floral nuances. The balance between berry and rose-petal flavors and fresh acidity creates a complex, dry taste that also pairs well with desserts. It took the top award in the Alcohol-Free Category at the World Sparkling Wine Awards 2022 and 2025.

Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs

Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs

A wine styled in a complex, champagne-esque fashion, Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs offers ripe apricot, yellow peach, and pineapple fruit aromas alongside white flowers, herbs, and brioche. Its creamy texture unfolds with a savory depth, while vibrant acidity and minerality form the wine's backbone. It pairs broadly with seafood as well as veal, lamb, and other meat dishes.

La Cuvée Vintage Blanc de Blancs

La Cuvée Vintage Blanc de Blancs

The only product in the French Bloom lineup to include a rare vintage component, La Cuvée Vintage Blanc de Blancs offers the depth and complexity reminiscent of aged champagne. Dried apricot, apple, and plum fruit aromas give way to layered notes of caramel, honey, and brioche. The taste is dry, with a long finish of nutty flavor and a pleasant bitterness. It has earned high praise from champagne enthusiasts and pairs well with a wide range of dishes.

Against a backdrop of growing health-consciousness and increasingly diverse lifestyles, the choice to go alcohol-free is becoming more common. French Bloom's arrival in Japan through Enoteca expands the options available to those seeking a premium wine-taste experience — regardless of whether alcohol is part of the occasion.
