HARE NOCHI KOJI Amazake Tasting Event Comes to 3 Tokyo Bathhouses from September 8

Hikari Miso Co., Ltd. (President: Yoshihiro Hayashi) is holding a tasting and special sales event for its new-sensation amazake HARE NOCHI KOJI at three hot bath facilities in Tokyo, starting today. It's a chance to casually try a refreshingly tangy amazake right after a bath.

HARE NOCHI KOJI is a new-sensation amazake with a refreshing tartness unlike conventional amazake. It draws out its bright acidity by using "white koji," a mold not typically used in amazake production. The lineup includes a concentrated type that can be mixed with water, sparkling water, and more for a variety of arrangements, and a straight type that can be enjoyed as is.

The HARE NOCHI KOJI Series

A new-sensation amazake with a refreshing tartness unlike conventional amazake

The biggest feature of the HARE NOCHI KOJI series is its sweet-tart flavor, unlike anything found in conventional amazake. To bring out its refreshing acidity, the drink uses "white koji," a mold not typically used to make amazake. The citric acid produced by the white koji lifts both body and mood in everyday moments. The lineup comes in two types: HARE NOCHI KOJI 340g, a diluted-style drink that can be mixed with sparkling water and other beverages to taste, and HARE NOCHI KOJI Straight 1000ml, which can be enjoyed as is.

HARE NOCHI KOJI 340g

HARE NOCHI KOJI 340g

A double-concentrate type that allows for a variety of arrangements. The taste changes depending on how it's mixed—with water, sparkling water, wine, and more—so it can be enjoyed in a style suited to personal taste and occasion. Arrangement recipes are shared on the official brand website.

  • Volume: 340g
  • Suggested retail price: ¥540 (tax included)
  • Best-by period: 12 months*

HARE NOCHI KOJI Straight 1000ml

HARE NOCHI KOJI Straight 1000ml

A ready-to-drink straight type that recreates the base flavor of HARE NOCHI KOJI 340g diluted 1:1 with water. Thorough mixing during production gives it a smooth mouthfeel and a clean, easy-to-drink taste, making it easy to work into a daily amazake habit.

  • Volume: 1000ml
  • Suggested retail price: ¥648 (tax included)
  • Best-by period: 10 months

*Starting with batches produced from February 2026, the best-by period for the 340g product has been extended from 10 months to 12 months.

About the Bathhouses

Myohoyu

Myohoyu

A two-minute walk from the north exit of Shiinamachi Station on the Seibu Ikebukuro Line, this renovated public bathhouse is known for its popular soft-water carbonated silky bath and sauna, drawing visitors from far and wide. The sauna is compact but runs at a high temperature of over 100°C (212°F). Towel, shampoo, and body soap rentals are available, so it's easy to drop in anytime. The bathhouse regularly hosts special baths and other events, offering something new to discover on every visit.

Nippori Saito-yu

Nippori Saito-yu

A three-minute walk from JR Nippori Station on the Yamanote Line, this old-town Tokyo bathhouse has no sauna but offers a wide variety of baths, with every tub using ultra-soft water, including a high-concentration carbonated bath and micro-nano bubbles. Water temperature is adjusted across four levels—39°C, 41°C, 42°C, and 44°C—letting visitors experience how the character of the water changes at each degree. Alternating between the hot baths and a cool bath of about 22°C offers a different kind of refreshed feeling than a sauna provides. With towel rental (¥40) and shampoo and body soap provided, visitors can drop in empty-handed.

Tennen Onsen Takarayu

Tennen Onsen Takarayu

A public bathhouse renovated in 2023, known for its smooth, gentle water made by turning groundwater into ultra-soft water. Visitors can enjoy several distinct natural hot spring baths, including a mild carbonated bath, two types of jet seat baths, and a silky open-air bath. Its sauna alternates between an auto-loyly sauna and a comfort sauna, with the men's and women's bathing areas swapped monthly. After the sauna, visitors can cool off in a radon-infused bath made with ultra-soft water containing a high concentration of Bad Gastein mineral rock, kept at around 16°C.
