Fuji-Q Highland's GeGeGe Haunted Mansion: Yokai Short Stories to Close on May 17, 2026

Fuji-Q Highland in Fujiyoshida City, Yamanashi, has announced the closure of its 3D sound attraction, GeGeGe Haunted Mansion: Yokai Short Stories, on Sunday, May 17, 2026. Since first opening in July 1997, the attraction in both its original and renewed formats has welcomed a cumulative total of approximately 7 million visitors.

The attraction originally launched in July 1997 as a walk-through experience themed around GeGeGe no Kitaro. In April 2016, it moved to a new location within the park and reopened as the 3D sound attraction "GeGeGe Haunted Mansion: Yokai Short Stories," where guests wear headphones to experience an original, "slightly scary" story exclusive to the venue. Alongside the renewal, the surrounding area was developed into "GeGeGe Yokai Yokocho," a dedicated zone that also includes a merchandise shop and character photo spots.
