This Summer, Fuji-Q Highland "Scream-Jacks" TOKYO TOWER With Two VR Thrill Attractions

Starting Saturday, July 18, 2026, TOKYO TOWER becomes the stage for two VR attractions that bring the thrills of Fuji-Q Highland's most popular rides to life. Fuji Kyuko Co., Ltd. (Fujiyoshida City, Yamanashi Prefecture), together with ABAL Inc. (Meguro-ku, Tokyo) and Dynamo Amusement Co., Ltd. (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo), is developing the two attractions in cooperation with TOKYO TOWER Co., Ltd. (Minato-ku, Tokyo).

In FootTown's basement-level Tower Hall B, ABAL is running the free-roam VR horror attraction Senritsu Meikyu MEI: Paranormal Awakening, based on Fuji-Q Highland's horror attraction "Senritsu Meikyu." On FootTown's third floor, Dynamo Amusement is presenting Hobo Hobo Jet Coaster V, which lets guests experience Fuji-Q Highland's popular coasters through VR headsets paired with motion seats.

Below ground, guests walk through the maze on their own two feet, with no escape from the fear. Above ground, they feel the speed and weightlessness of a roller coaster. The screams and scares that define Fuji-Q Highland come together at TOKYO TOWER, letting visitors move between FootTown's floors to enjoy two very different kinds of thrills.

Senritsu Meikyu MEI is a free-roam VR horror attraction created by ABAL, based on the story and world of Fuji-Q Highland's horror attraction "Senritsu Meikyu." Within a limited physical space, it builds a vast virtual maze spanning eight floors and roughly one kilometer in total length. Wearing VR goggles, participants walk through the maze on their own feet, investigating the paranormal phenomena hidden throughout. This time, a collaboration with horror icon Sadako has also been realized: Senritsu Meikyu MEI: Paranormal Awakening – Sadako Special Investigation runs alongside the original Senritsu Meikyu MEI: Paranormal Awakening, giving guests two different mazes to enjoy. Any apparitions or Sadako encountered inside the maze can be captured as photos or video within the VR space, and guests can download their footage to keep after the experience.

Hobo Hobo Jet Coaster V (roughly, "Pretty Much a Roller Coaster V") is an immersive ride attraction that lets guests experience Fuji-Q Highland's popular rides through 360-degree VR footage combined with MX4D® motion seats. Live-action 360-degree footage shown through the VR goggles is synced with motion seats that move forward and backward, side to side, and up and down, recreating each coaster's distinct acceleration, turns, sideways sway, and drops to capture the speed and weightlessness unique to a roller coaster.

Five coasters are available, including FUJIYAMA and ZOKKON. Guests can also experience Do-Dodonpa in VR, a coaster that has ended operation and can no longer be ridden at the park itself. Visitors can choose their favorite attraction to relive a familiar scream, or try a dream coaster for the first time.
