Space Brothers Metal Canvas Art Exhibition Travels to Five Japanese Cities Starting October 30 to Mark the Manga's Finale

A metal canvas art exhibition and sale commemorating the conclusion of the manga Space Brothers (宇宙兄弟) by Chuya Koyama will be held in five cities across Japan, one after another, starting October 30 (Fri), 2026: Yokohama, Nagoya, Osaka, Fukuoka, and Tokyo. The event is organized by GAAAT, an art brand that expands the expression and experience of IP content through the power of art and technology.

Serialization of Space Brothers began in Kodansha's Morning in 2007 and reached its final chapter in June 2026. The story centers on Mutta Nanba (南波六太), who aims to become an astronaut, and his younger brother Hibito (日々人), and depicts the challenges and bonds of people who keep chasing their dreams. As of July 2026 (46 volumes published), the series has grown into a work with more than 35 million copies in circulation, including digital editions.

The exhibition reconstructs the story that has been woven over roughly 18 years as GAAAT's original "Metal Canvas Art." On display and for sale are "CONVERGE ART," which gathers hundreds of scene materials into a single piece, as well as works that bring out the appeal of the characters.

The challenges toward dreams and the feelings of the people depicted in the story are given a new form through the texture and depth unique to metal. Visitors can not only view the works but also enjoy displaying them at home or in a space and owning them as a collection.

Metal Canvas Art Reconstructing the World of Space Brothers

The exhibition displays and sells artworks that express the world of Space Brothers through different approaches.

Examples of works:

CONVERGE ART

CONVERGE ART is GAAAT's original technique that gathers hundreds of scene materials and reconstructs a moment symbolizing the world of the work into a single piece of art. Condensing the many scenes that have colored the story, it creates a new viewing experience through the texture of metal and three-dimensional expression.

What Is GAAAT's Original Art Technology "Metal Canvas Art (MCA)"?

"Metal Canvas Art (MCA)" is a new art experience proposed by GAAAT. Finished one piece at a time by specialist artisans, metal canvas art has the weight and beauty unique to metal materials while offering a distinctive, immersive experience in which the three-dimensionality of the artwork stands out.

It is also highly durable, resistant to sunlight and humidity, so its beauty can be enjoyed for a long time.

A special data design technique that divides digital data into 32 layers makes delicate expression of unevenness and color possible.
