Ahead of the 50th anniversary in 2027 of Gashapon, Bandai's capsule toy brand, the Gashapon Bandai Official Shop is entering a new stage. Starting with the Ikebukuro Store on October 8, 2026 (Thursday), the shop is being renewed store by store. The renewal is carried out by Bandai Namco Experience.
The Ikebukuro Store, the first renewal store, opened inside Sunshine City in Ikebukuro in March 2023. It is the flagship of the Gashapon Bandai Official Shop, which operates in all 47 prefectures of Japan, and has the world's largest scale (Note 1) in the number of capsule toy machine slots.
The Gashapon Bandai Official Shop marked its fifth anniversary since the first store opened on September 17, 2021, and reached 300 stores in Japan in September 2026. Looking ahead to Gashapon's 50th anniversary in 2027, the shop plans to further expand the products, services, and experiences unique to an official shop.

Ikebukuro Store Expands to 888 Capsule Toy Machine Slots
On October 8, 2026 (Thursday), the flagship Ikebukuro Store is renewed. Along with a new logo and store design for the Gashapon Bandai Official Shop, the number of capsule toy machine slots is greatly expanded to 888, the world's largest scale, for a wider product lineup.
Beyond finding the products you have been looking for, the store is designed to widen the fun of Gashapon, such as encountering products and characters you did not know before. The Ikebukuro Store is the first to offer this store experience.
New Logo and Store Design
With the renewal, the logo and store design of the Gashapon Bandai Official Shop are refreshed. The new logo and store design express the shop concept, "Your passion is right here." (あなたの夢中、ここにあり。), in the store space as well.

"Gashapon Members" Exclusive Prize Gashapon Expands to All Stores
The exclusive prize Gashapon that can be turned with the Gashapoints of "Gashapon Members" will expand to all Gashapon Bandai Official Shop stores from October 2026. A new prize, the "Gashapon Assort Collection" (ガシャポンアソートコレクション, 9 types in total), also joins the lineup.

The event "Go With Gashapon Friends! Gasha-tto Mawashite Pon Tours 2026" (ガシャポンフレンズと行く！ガシャっと回してポーンツアーズ2026) takes place at Sunshine City in Ikebukuro from October 9 (Friday) to October 11 (Sunday), 2026. To commemorate it, limited products and advance-sale products go on sale from October 9, 2026 (Friday) at Gashapon Bandai Official Shops nationwide and at "Gashapon Official Shop @ASAKUSA" (ガシャポンオフィシャルショップ@ASAKUSA店).
- No sales take place inside the event venue.
- Products are subject to change.
- Sales at each store end when stock runs out.
Circulation of Capsules
The shop runs "Capsule Recycling," in which empty capsules collected at Gashapon Bandai Official Shops and elsewhere are turned back into material, and the recycled material is used to produce new capsules. By putting them back on the market, empty capsules are circulated into new capsules.
2027: Gashapon's 50th Anniversary and Beyond
Starting with this renewal, the Gashapon Bandai Official Shop will keep evolving the in-store experience unique to an official shop toward Gashapon's 50th anniversary in 2027 and beyond.
"Gashapon Official" as a New Nickname
While the official name of the Gashapon Bandai Official Shop stays the same, the nickname "Gashapon Official" (ガシャポンオフィシャル) is being introduced with this renewal so that more customers can call it with familiarity.
"Call Us #ガシャポンオフィシャル!" Renewal Commemorative Follow and Repost Campaign
To spread the new nickname, a follow-and-repost campaign is being held. Participants follow the official X account of the Gashapon Bandai Official Shop (@GBO_official) and repost the target post with the hashtag "#ガシャポンオフィシャル". From those who do, 55 winners are drawn by lottery to receive a special "Bandai Official Gashapon Machine Joy - GASHAPON BANDAI OFFICIAL SHOP SPECIAL COLOR ver." reflecting the new brand design.
