Goto Winery's First Merlot Rosé Wine Made from 100% Nagasaki Goto Grapes Now Available

On Sale Starting February 11, 2026

Goto Winery Co., Ltd. (Goto City, Nagasaki Prefecture) will release Merlot (Rosé) 2025, made from 100% Goto-grown grapes fermented with Camellia yeast, starting Wednesday, February 11, 2026.

Goto Winery Merlot Rosé 2025

This marks Goto Winery's first venture into Merlot rosé production. While climate change caused some grape coloring challenges, careful pressing and fermentation techniques resulted in a beautifully hued rosé wine.

The wine showcases Goto's unique terroir—natural climate, well-drained volcanic ash soil, and mineral-rich vineyard nourished by ocean breezes. This masterpiece fully captures the island's distinctive characteristics.

With a body between light and medium, this versatile wine pairs excellently with fish dishes and lighter meat preparations. As a debut release, production is limited, making this a rare wine to experience.

Merlot (Rosé) 2025 is available for purchase at the Goto Winery official online shop, various souvenir shops and liquor stores throughout Goto City, Nagasaki Prefecture, and select souvenir shops across Nagasaki Prefecture.
