Since launching in Japan in May 2021, the brand has been supported by many customers and now marks its 5th anniversary. In gratitude for that support — and in response to customer requests — Grand Castella is reviving, in relay fashion, the Japan-exclusive items that proved especially popular over the past five years.

Grand Castella, which arrived in Japan in May 2021, celebrates its 5th anniversary this year.
To mark the occasion, the brand has rolled out a string of new hits this year — including the Taiwanese Peanut Mochi Castella and Taiwanese Coconut Mochi Castella — that drew orders from across the country. Alongside these new releases, and as a thank-you to loyal customers, Grand Castella is also running a "revival relay" bringing back past fan favorites.
The latest item to return is the Whole Chestnut Montblanc Castella, which sold out day after day when it first launched last year.

Starting Saturday, August 15, 2026, the Whole Chestnut Montblanc Castella will go on sale in limited quantities at the Tokyo Skytree Town Solamachi main store and the Yokohama Takashimaya store. Pre-orders through the online store also open at 8:00 AM the same day.
Because the item sold out repeatedly last year, a surge in orders could mean a wait until it's restocked. Customers are encouraged to order as soon as sales begin.
