(Seto, Aichi Prefecture), a company that plans, manufactures, and exports growing kits. It will be available at gift shops and souvenir stores nationwide, as well as through Seishin Tougei's official online store, "SEISHIN PLUS+."
Samurai, Geisha, and Ninja Draw Attention Worldwide
According to the Japan National Tourism Organization, the number of inbound visitors to Japan reached a record 42.68 million in 2025, and Japan Tourism Agency figures show travel spending topped ¥8 trillion, reflecting continued global interest in Japanese culture.
Ninja, samurai, and geisha are distinctly Japanese figures well known overseas. Seishin Tougei, which has been developing growing kits since 1999 and is now in its 27th year, designed this product as a new kind of Japanese novelty good that combines the enjoyment of growing something with the appeal of Japanese culture.

A Growing Experience Where Every Head of "Turf Hair" Turns Out Different
Growing Kit JAPAN is a growing kit in which turf sprouts from a ceramic head and grows out like hair.
The turf used in the kit grows quickly into a dense, deep-green covering, the same quality used on professional fields such as golf course greens and soccer pitches. After watering, germination begins in about four to seven days, so growers can watch the process unfold.
Once the turf has grown in, it can be cut or tied freely: styled into a topknot-like chonmage for the samurai, swept up elegantly for the geisha, or trimmed into a ragged cut for the ninja, letting each grower create a one-of-a-kind look as it develops. Because all the necessary materials are included in the set, first-time growers can get started with ease.
