Kyo no Tori-dokoro Hachikian at Ikebukuro Tobu Department Store is refreshing its signature hot pot menu from June 1. The updated lineup, available at dinner only, features four dishes built around two premium ingredients — Oyama Gaina Chicken and Kyoto duck (Kyogamo).
The revamp focuses on adjusting portion sizes and pricing to fit a wider range of dining situations, from solo visits to evenings where guests want to order across multiple dishes. The four options are:

Oyama Gaina Chicken Hot Pot (Tori no Mizutaki)
¥3,080 per person (tax included)
A milky white broth that concentrates the rich umami of Oyama Gaina Chicken, highlighting the breed's characteristic firmness and natural sweetness.
Kyoto Duck and Kujo Green Onion Shabu-shabu (Kamo no Shabu-shabu)
¥3,080 per person (tax included)
Thinly sliced Kyoto duck — prized for the delicate sweetness of its fat — served with generous portions of Kujo green onion in a traditional dashi broth for a clean, satisfying finish.

Oyama Gaina Chicken Sukiyaki (Tori no Sukiyaki)
¥2,860 per person (tax included)
Chicken in a rich warishita sauce, best enjoyed dipped in egg — a classic sukiyaki experience now offered at a more accessible price point.
Kyoto Duck and Kujo Green Onion Sukiyaki (Kamo no Sukiyaki)
¥3,300 per person (tax included)
Duck and Kujo green onion prepared in Hachikian's traditional seasoning, delivering a deep and layered flavor.
The restaurant had received feedback that previous portions were more than a solo diner could finish, or made it difficult to try other dishes alongside. The renewed menu aims to deliver the full quality of each ingredient in a portion that stays enjoyable to the last bite, at prices that are easier to fit into a dinner visit.
