Hakone Kowakien Yunessun (1297 Ninotaira, Hakone-machi, Ashigarashimo-gun, Kanagawa Prefecture), which marked its 25th anniversary on New Year's Day 2026, is holding the special event "Yunessun Christmas 2026" to coincide with the holiday season.
The event includes a campaign offering half-price adult admission to guests who visit in full Christmas costumes, a seasonal bath and decorations that appear only for the holidays, and a special program with the facility's mascot. Christmas offerings are also available at the official hotel, Hakone Hotel Kowakien.
Half-Price Adult Admission for Christmas Costumes
Under the campaign "Oideyo! Christmas Cos-Wari!" (おいでよ!クリスマスコス割!), guests who visit in a full-body Christmas costume, such as Santa Claus, a reindeer, or a Christmas tree, can enter Yunessun, the hot spring facility where swimsuits are worn, at a special rate. Adult (junior high school age and up) admission, normally ¥2,500 to ¥2,800, drops by half to ¥1,250 to ¥1,400.
Holiday-Season Seasonal Bath and Decorations
The seasonal bath "Snow Fantasy Bath" (スノーファンタジー風呂) returns this year, with the theme "winter starry sky." Decorations evoking stars twinkling in the winter sky are installed on the ceiling, and the water surface turns a soft white, as if snow had settled on it. The area around the main spa 神々のエーゲ海 is also decorated for the holiday season.
Special Program "Boxappy's Bubble Snow Time!"
On select days, the facility's official mascot Hakoneko Boxappy (ハコネコ ボザッピィ, hereafter Boxappy) will hold the special program "Boxappy's Bubble Snow Time!" (ボザッピィのバブルスノータイム!). Snow falls to a bright, cheerful Christmas song that makes people want to dance.
Christmas at Hakone Hotel Kowakien
At Hakone Hotel Kowakien, the official hotel of Yunessun, a large Christmas tree about 4 m tall stands at the entrance. At the buffet restaurant Fontainebleau (フォンテンブロー), diners can help themselves to about 60 Japanese, Western, and Chinese dishes, plus holiday-themed items such as roast chicken and Christmas sweets.
