Hankyu Ferry "Izumi" Resumes Service from February 19, 2026

Hankyu Ferry Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Moji Ward, Kitakyushu City) announces that the ferry "Izumi," which had been suspended due to engine failure (port side reduction gear damage), has completed parts replacement and safety verification. Full service will resume from the February 19, 2026 (Thursday) departure from Shin-Moji Port.

The company deeply apologizes to all passengers and those involved in logistics and tourism for the significant inconvenience caused during the extended suspension period.

Background and Timeline of Service Resumption

The "Izumi" had been out of service since December 20, 2024, due to engine failure caused by damage to the port side reduction gear. In fiscal 2025, after confirming the integrity of the starboard side, the company conducted "temporary operations" limited to freight vehicles for a specified period. Now, after replacing the damaged parts and completing rigorous inspections, the vessel is ready to safely transport both passengers and vehicles.

As a key player in maritime infrastructure supporting the economy and daily life of Western Japan, the company has deeply recognized its social mission and pledges to continue serving as a reliable connection for people and goods under comprehensive safety management.
