Hotel Nikko Nara, located directly connected to JR Nara Station, is offering a special accommodation plan that includes admission tickets to the "Nanto Buddhist Paintings: The Beauty of the Tenpyo Era in Nara Reborn" exhibition. Ticket-inclusive stays are available from May 18 through September 12, 2026, coinciding with the exhibition's run at the Nara National Museum.
This exhibition is the result of approximately 20 years of joint planning between the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and the Nara National Museum. Buddhist paintings from Nara held in the Boston collection return home in a landmark homecoming display, shown alongside carefully selected Buddhist paintings and statues from Japan — including holdings from the Nara National Museum — to trace the history of "Nanto Buddhist Paintings" for the very first time. Rare masterpieces and Buddhist statues associated with the legendary Uchiyama Eikyu-ji Temple will also be on display, making it a truly exceptional opportunity.
The accommodation plan includes not only the exhibition admission ticket but also a special "Shiyuishu Hologram Rainbow Sticker" from coto mono, a popular Nara stationery and goods shop, offered as a travel memento.
