The Tokyo Station Hotel, located inside the Marunouchi station building of Tokyo Station (1-9-1 Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo), holds a variety of experience events that let guests discover Marunouchi, an area where history and culture are still alive. On Tuesday, November 10, 2026, the popular building tour lunch plan with Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum, Tokyo will be held. The day takes in two historic Western-style buildings, the museum and the Tokyo Station Marunouchi building, and the stories of architecture and history that each has handed down.
Building Tour Before the Museum Opens
Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum, Tokyo, which was born as the first office building in Marunouchi, still conveys the look of its early days. In this plan, guests are guided through the museum in the quiet of the morning, before it opens. Museum staff explain the building's history and highlights, which many people may not know, while guests see them in person. Guests can experience the appeal of Marunouchi, a district that has grown over the years and carries its historic scenery into the future.

Mitsubishi Ichigokan was built in 1894 as the first project in Mitsubishi's development of the Marunouchi office district. It is a red-brick Western-style office building designed by Josiah Conder, the teacher of Kingo Tatsuno, who designed the Tokyo Station Marunouchi building. The current building was restored as faithfully as possible to Conder's original design. Some preserved components, such as the stone of the staircase handrails, were reused inside, and not only the design and materials but also the manufacturing methods and construction techniques were reproduced through detailed research.
Hotel Tour and Lunch
After the museum building tour, guests head to The Tokyo Station Hotel. In Bar Oak, before it opens, they watch a short film on the appeal of the hotel. After a short break, hotel staff lead a tour of the hotel. The tour covers areas that are normally open only to overnight guests and introduces the history and stories the hotel has built up over more than a century.
Lunch is served at either the main dining room, Blanc Rouge, or Bar & Café Camellia, whichever guests prefer. Over the meal, guests can also look back on the histories of the two buildings, the design elements they share and the individual character of each.
The plan includes a ticket to the exhibition "Fontanesi: Light of Italy, Landscapes of the Heart" (フォンタネージ―イタリアの光・心の風景), held at Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum, Tokyo from October 17, 2026 to January 24, 2027. The ticket can be used on any day during the exhibition period, including the day of the plan. The plan is limited to 15 guests, so early reservations are recommended.

Tie-Up Cocktail: Nostalgic Tone
To go with the Fontanesi exhibition, Bar & Café Camellia serves a tie-up cocktail named "Nostalgic tone" (ノスタルジックトーン).

Period: October 17 (Sat), 2026 to January 24 (Sun), 2027
Hours: 11:30 AM–4:00 PM (last order 3:00 PM) | 5:00 PM–11:00 PM (last order 10:30 PM)
Venue: Bar & Café Camellia
Price: ¥2,400
Recipe: Frangelico, Otona no Kyujitsu (sake), elderflower liqueur, lemon, Albumina, garnish, dill, pink pepper
The cocktail turns the rich scenery of trees and flowers in the landscape paintings of the painter Fontanesi into a single glass. Fontanesi was born in northern Italy, and so the drink is based on hazelnut liqueur, combined with fragrant elderflower and sake to express the link between two cultures, Italy and Japan. Egg white makes the texture soft and smooth, and each sip carries a fluffy taste reminiscent of Fontanesi's gentle personality.
The glass is decorated with lively dill and delicate pink pepper, and a plant-like aroma rises each time the glass is brought close to the lips. The nutty aroma of hazelnut follows, then a faint hint of sake, and after swallowing, the floral scent of elderflower remains as an aftertaste.
The fragrance and flavor shift quietly within a single glass, making it a cocktail that conveys the breath of nature, as if standing inside one of Fontanesi's landscape paintings.

About the Exhibition
"Fontanesi: Light of Italy, Landscapes of the Heart" (フォンタネージ―イタリアの光・心の風景)
Exhibition period: October 17 (Sat), 2026 to January 24 (Sun), 2027
The 19th-century Italian painter Antonio Fontanesi (1818–1882) was invited to Japan in 1876, at the age of 58, as a painting teacher at the Technical Fine Arts School. He is known for his students, who included early Western-style painters such as Asai Chu and Koyama Shotaro. He stayed in various parts of Europe, including Switzerland, France and Britain, and, while influenced by the Barbizon school and Turner, created his own poetic landscape paintings. Fontanesi worked on landscapes throughout his life. In 1869 he was appointed professor of landscape painting at the art academy in Turin, and he continued to work there until his later years.
With the cooperation of GAM – Galleria Civica d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea, Torino and Fondazione Torino Musei, the exhibition surveys Fontanesi's works from the early years of his career to his final years. It also sheds light on his influence and legacy in the works of his Japanese students and of Italian artists of his own and the following generation, revealing the full scope of his art through about 200 works.
