A new themed show in the immersive dining entertainment Le Petit Chef, "How to Become the World's Greatest Chef," will begin at Hyatt Regency Kyoto on Wednesday, October 28, 2026. A new story in the series, it makes its first appearance in Japan.
*The "Japan debut" is based on information from 2Spicy Entertainment GmbH, the company behind Le Petit Chef.
Le Petit Chef is a dining entertainment created by the Belgian artist collective Skullmapping using 3D projection mapping. The table becomes the screen, and an experience that pairs the adventures of a tiny chef with a course meal is enjoyed at hotels and restaurants around the world.
In the new show, Le Petit Chef, the world's smallest chef at about 6 cm tall, guides guests who aspire to become top chefs through a cooking lesson spanning five chapters. The history of ingredients, the art of plating, the love put into cooking, and cooking techniques are all presented through humorous visuals and storytelling. The show ends with a participatory finale in which guests finish their own dessert. It is a fit for meals with family and friends or special anniversaries.

Five Lessons to Become the World's Greatest Chef
Across five lessons, the show covers the history of ingredients, the art of plating, the love put into cooking, and cooking techniques through humorous visuals and storytelling.
Highlights include dishes inspired by artists, a scene depicting memories with a grandmother, and a musical that introduces cooking methods through song. The appetizer is inspired by the art of the painter Wassily Kandinsky.
A Dessert Finale Where Guests Take Part
Near the end of the show, guests finish their own dessert.
Ingredients such as fruit and sauce are added to a dessert glass with a small spoon and decorated to complete the dish. By putting Le Petit Chef's lessons into practice, guests become part of the story.
Japanese and English Shown Simultaneously
The new show has more dialogue than the previous one so that guests can enjoy the story in greater depth. Japanese is the main audio, played through the venue's speakers, while English can be enjoyed through dedicated Bluetooth earphones. Japanese-speaking guests and guests from overseas can each watch the show in their own language. This simultaneous Japanese and English screening is a first for Le Petit Chef in Japan.

Course Menu Matched to the New Show
A course meal prepared by the chefs of Hyatt Regency Kyoto is served to match each chapter of the show. Guests can enjoy the world of the story by tasting the elaborate dishes together with the tiny chef's tale unfolding on the table.
