Finnish design brand Iittala is releasing a limited-edition "Iittala × Pokémon" collection to mark the 30th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise. The collaboration brings together two icons born in the late 1990s — Iittala's Origo tableware series and Pokémon — in a line that blends Finnish design heritage with pop culture nostalgia. Sales begin on May 1, 2026 (Friday) at 10:00 AM at Iittala stores and the official Iittala online store.
The Fusion of Iittala's Design Icon "Origo" and Pokémon
Since its debut in 1999, Origo has been beloved as a "modern classic" for its bold stripe pattern. The iconic series now becomes the canvas for celebrating Pokémon's 30th anniversary. Retaining Origo's functional design and colorful rhythm, the collection reimagines the world-renowned "Pikachu" through a playful yet refined contemporary lens.
Collection Highlights
Rather than simple merchandise, each piece in the collection is designed as a functional object that fits naturally into everyday life. Pikachu-inspired color stripes are woven together with Pikachu illustrations printed on the items, fusing Origo's graphic rhythm with the rich storytelling of Pokémon. Limited-Time Pop-Up at Atre Ebisu
To coincide with the May 1 launch, a limited-time pop-up is being held at Fontaine Plaza on the 4th floor of Atre Ebisu Main Building.
The venue features a special exhibition of the collection alongside an oversized Origo Mug and Pikachu photo backdrop. The collection is also available for purchase at the Iittala store on the 5th floor of Atre Ebisu Main Building.
