About Ishinomakiman
Ishinomakiman was born in August 2015 as a local hero from Ishinomaki City who transforms through three stages powered by emotion.
While Ishinomakiman promotes Ishinomaki City, the character was also created to convey an important message from the Great East Japan Earthquake.
When people face difficulties, we naturally want to support those who persevere without giving up. Their efforts inspire us, creating a sense of emotion that generates a mysterious power within us. This inspiration leads us to think, "I need to do my best too!"
Particularly during extreme situations like the Great East Japan Earthquake, the sight of people smiling and working hard despite their circumstances created deep emotion, and countless warm messages of support were sent to the affected areas.
Unknown people connected somewhere, generating energy through "gratitude" and "emotion."
Yes, people become stronger through emotion, and "everyone has the power to become strong" — this is the message that must be conveyed through Ishinomakiman!

Ishinomakiman Disaster Prevention Plush Features
1. Built-in LED Light
To provide reassurance during power outages or in the dark, an LED light is built into the "Maki Ishi Timer" on the chest, gently illuminating the surroundings.
2. Reassuring Voice Messages
Press the button to play one of five reassuring messages voiced by Moe-san, a "Hoya Idol" from Ishinomaki. These messages help ease anxious feelings.
3. Storage Space on the Back
Open the zipper on the back to reveal a small storage space where you can keep important items.
4. Built-in Emergency Whistle
A mini whistle is built into the back storage compartment, allowing you to call for help in emergencies.
