Hiroshima Prefecture, Mihara City — 2026 Yassa Hanabi Festa (August 9)

Yamagata Prefecture, Tsuruoka City — 33rd Akagawa Fireworks Festival (August 15)
A music-synchronized star mine spanning up to 700 meters lights up the entire night sky, in a display often described as one of Japan's most moving fireworks shows.
Niigata Prefecture, Ojiya City — Ojiya Matsuri Grand Fireworks Festival (August 22)
Lavish star mine displays color the night sky, while a Karakuri Mando lantern parade and a mass folk dance procession bring the whole town out for the lively Ojiya Matsuri.
Nara Prefecture, Ando Town, Ikoma District — 15th Ando Town Fureai Bon Odori Festival (August 23)
Food stalls and attractions fill the festival grounds, closing with a burst of fireworks and limited-edition fans for a memorable summer evening in Ando.
Tochigi Prefecture, Moka City — Sontoku Summer Festival 2026: The Final (August 29)
Around 10,000 fireworks, including large shakudama shells, light up the sky at this year's Sontoku Summer Festival, alongside bon odori dancing, local performances, and night stalls — marking the event's final edition.
