BEAMS Marks Its 50th Anniversary with a Summer Festival, "BEAMS 50 Festival," at GRAND GREEN OSAKA

BEAMS is marking its 50th anniversary with "BEAMS 50 Festival" (BEAMS Gojussai), a summer festival planned by staff from its western Japan stores, held on Friday, September 11 and Saturday, September 12, 2026, at GRAND GREEN OSAKA's Rohto Heart Square Umekita.

Under the 50th-anniversary slogan "Ready, Happy, Go! Onward to the world, having fun all the way," BEAMS is diving into the world of the Japanese summer festival for this event.

Visitors, passersby, and local residents alike are invited into a space reimagined in BEAMS's own style, where smiles come naturally as people mix together. Centered on BEAMS staff from western Japan, the festival brings 50 experiences tied to the 50th anniversary, made together with the local community.

Performers

Isono-kun (of YONA YONA WEEKENDERS)

Frontman of the three-piece band YONA YONA WEEKENDERS, known for "good music to drink to" with roots in melodic hardcore and punk, and prized for his groovy, expressive voice. He likes sake, ramen, and Nogizaka46. The band released its major-label debut single "Ii Yume" through Speedstar Records on April 7, 2021. Since then he has kept up a steady stream of releases and drawn attention for collaborations with fellow musicians such as Takeshi Arai (the band apart), Chung-ho Sai (bonobos), Ikuko Harada (Clammbon), and Ai Otsuka. Beyond music, he's also known for the talking and writing skills he honed as an office worker — writing lyrics and music, running a column that mixes ramen and music, and hosting a regular radio segment. He has also starred in YYW's music videos alongside notable actors and comedians such as Sisonne, Yosuke Kubozuka, and Rie Tomosaka, staying active across a wide range of fields.

Zα SAVAGE

A new-generation improvisational instrumental band made up of junior high and high school students. Their defining trait is a live style built around improvisation — rather than replaying a fixed arrangement, they build music in the moment based on the day's atmosphere, the crowd's energy, and the chemistry between members. Drawing on backgrounds in funk, jazz, and rock, they cross genre and generational lines on stage. Practice and session videos filmed in a tatami room have racked up millions of impressions on social media and drawn coverage from TV and web media. This year they were among the youngest acts ever to play the Naeba Shokudo stage at FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL '26, drawing the stage's biggest crowd yet.

Osaka Prefectural Kunijima High School Wadaiko Club

Formed in 2000, the club has performed at local festivals, welfare facilities, schools, and companies, and takes part in taiko exchange events and competitions. It is especially active from summer through autumn, performing at festivals and events around Osaka, and treats every performance as a valued encounter while practicing daily to improve.

Harukaze ni Tsugu

A Yoshimoto Kogyo comedy duo (Tonzu as the straight man, Hanabi as the funny man). They made the finals of "THE W 2023" shortly after their April 2023 debut and are a promising young duo active across radio and YouTube.

Suisei Cheek Dance

A comedy duo formed in 2016. They placed runner-up at the 2025 "ytv Manzai Newcomer Award," an up-and-coming act in comedy competitions, bringing solid skill and quick-paced talk to liven up the event.

DJ JETMAN

A trio newly formed in 2018, bringing together MASARI-sensei — a nursery school director who also produces kids' areas at music festivals nationwide — DJ大工マン, who is also a father of two, and Fukuoka-based OHIGEMAN, who is skilled on the MPC. Drawing on MASARI-sensei's experience in childcare, the group brings a fresh style of rhythm-based movement play to festivals, nurseries, kindergartens, and commercial facilities.

Emcee: Yuri Hiro

Served as a newscaster at NHK for seven years. During that time she interviewed a wide range of people, from celebrities to local residents, conducting more than 4,000 interviews in total. She has worked across many roles, from news-program caster and reporter to sports caster, and in the latter half of her career gained extensive experience interviewing sports teams and athletes, hosting in-program tie-in talks, and emceeing events.
