CRAZY BUMP Co., Ltd., which plans and runs pop-up exhibitions themed around manga, anime, tokusatsu, and other subculture genres, has released details on Junji Ito POP UP STORE -Uzumaki & Gyo- in Mie, running from September 1 (Tuesday) through September 23 (Wednesday), 2026, at the Hakaba no Garou outpost on the 2nd floor of Apita Matsusaka Mikumo.
The special Hakaba no Garou exhibition that gripped Nakano Broadway in unprecedented fear from late 2025 into early 2026, Junji Ito POP UP STORE -Uzumaki & Gyo-, is now confirmed to return at the Hakaba no Garou outpost on the 2nd floor of Apita Matsusaka Mikumo.
Junji Ito is a leading figure in Japanese horror manga with a following that spans the globe. Among the many worlds of fear, beauty, and madness he has created, two titles take center stage here: Uzumaki, the masterpiece in which characters are drawn into a swirling madness, and Gyo, the story of deep-sea invaders that arrive with a pungent stench. Both now get their own pop-up store.
The key visual for this event is an entirely new illustration, drawn exclusively for Hakaba no Garou. It centers on Uzumaki protagonist Kirie Goshima and her enigmatic classmate Azami Kurotani, their bodies slowly, and inescapably, drawn into a massive spiral.
The store will sell a wide range of original goods packed with the appeal of both titles, from everyday items that seem to spiral their way into daily life to apparel with intense designs that stimulate both sight and smell — a collection wrapped in madness and nightmare.
