Junji Ito POP UP STORE -Uzumaki & Gyo- will be held at TSUTAYA Tosa-Doro Store (TSUTAYA土佐道路店) in Kochi Prefecture from Wednesday, November 11 to Sunday, December 13, 2026. The pop-up comes from CRAZY BUMP Co., Ltd., which holds and runs exhibitions themed on subculture such as manga, anime, and tokusatsu.
The pop-up is a special Hakaba no Garou (墓場の画廊) project that took over Nakano Broadway with unprecedented horror from the end of 2025 into the start of 2026. It now comes to Kochi.
Junji Ito is a leading figure in Japanese horror manga, active around the world. Among the many worlds he has created, where fear, beauty, and madness intermingle, two titles take center stage at this store: Uzumaki, a masterpiece in which people are drawn into a swirling madness, and Gyo, the story of deep-sea invaders that arrive with a pungent stench.
The key visual for this event is a completely new illustration, drawn exclusively for Hakaba no Garou. It centers on Uzumaki protagonist Kirie Goshima and her enigmatic classmate Azami Kurotani, whose bodies are slowly, and inescapably, swallowed up by a giant spiral.
The venue will sell many original goods that draw on the appeal of both titles, including everyday items that seem to spiral their way into daily life and apparel with intense designs aimed at both sight and smell.
