KAI, the global cutlery manufacturer, has launched the KOREAN KITCHEN series on May 25, 2026. The lineup is available through KAI's official online store as well as at specialty retailers, home improvement stores, and mass merchandisers across Japan.
Korean dishes such as kimbap, pajeon, and samgyeopsal have been growing in popularity, particularly among younger consumers. With hot summers driving demand for spicy food, more people are trying their hand at Korean cooking at home. The KOREAN KITCHEN series was developed to make that experience easy, authentic, and fun.
The series includes five products, each designed for specific Korean dishes and cooking tasks.
Samgyeopsal Scissors
Price: 1,100 yen (tax included)
Scissors designed specifically for cutting pork belly (samgyeopsal) at the table. Beyond the sharp cutting edge, the handles are ergonomically shaped for a comfortable, fatigue-resistant grip.

Garlic Slicer
Price: 1,100 yen (tax included)
Garlic is an essential ingredient in Korean cooking. This slicer makes it easy to prepare thin slices quickly while keeping the garlic smell off your hands.

Korean Tongs
Price: 1,650 yen (tax included)
A versatile long-handled tong for gripping and handling food. The extended length is particularly practical when cutting and handling samgyeopsal at the grill.

Kimbap Rolling Mat
Price: 880 yen (tax included)
An essential tool for making kimbap. The mat's black color makes it resistant to staining from strongly pigmented ingredients like kimchi, so there's no need to worry about discoloration.

Samgyeopsal Pan
Price: 3,300 yen (tax included)
A frying pan for making samgyeopsal at home on a regular stovetop. The grooved inner surface channels away excess oil during cooking, making the dish a little healthier without sacrificing flavor.

Recipes for Korean dishes using the KOREAN KITCHEN series are available on KAI's official website. The lineup is on sale now at the KAI official online store and at retailers nationwide.
