Kids Take the Lead at Lumine Tachikawa's First-Ever "Ensen Kids Marche"

A brand-new experiential event for children is coming to Lumine Tachikawa. On March 21, 2026 (Saturday), the shopping complex will host "Ensen Kids Marche," a day-long event centered on kids' learning, creativity, and regional discovery. The event runs from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Rooftop Sky Garden "Kotorie" (in case of rain, the 9F Lumine Lounge and 7F Event Space will be used instead).

The event brings together three main activities: a children-run flea market, hands-on workshops with local Ome businesses, and a special ticket giveaway that encourages kids to visit the Ome Line area.

1. Kids Flea Market — Kids Sell, Kids Shop

In the Kids Flea Market, children take on the role of stall owners, pricing and selling their own used toys, clothing, and books. The setup is designed to help develop financial literacy and communication skills in a real-world setting. Some items from the Tama region, prepared by Lumine Tachikawa, will also be available for sale.

Times: Session 1: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM / Session 2: 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Venue: Rooftop Sky Garden "Kotorie" (9F Lumine Lounge in case of rain)
Stall fee: ¥300 (JRE POINT or cash only)
※ Customers who pay by JRE POINT on the day will receive a free plain waffle voucher from Mr. Waffle on the 1st floor.
Shopping is free — no reservation needed
Age for running a stall: 3rd to 6th grade elementary school students (including those graduating in March 2026)
Age for shopping: Elementary school students and younger (preschool children welcome)
Capacity: 20 groups per session (up to 2 people per stall)
Reservation period: February 26 – March 8, 2026

2. Kids Workshops — Make and Learn with Ome Artisans

Five vendors with connections to Ome City will offer hands-on workshops including bead and strap accessory making, as well as woodworking using natural materials. These activities give children a chance to experience local craftsmanship and the natural resources of the Ome area.

Stamp Rally: A stamp rally sheet will be available at the venue. Collect stamps from each stall to receive a special discount ticket valid at restaurant shops on the 8th floor.

3. Free Train Tickets to Ome — "GOGO Kids! GOGO Ome!"

At a special counter in the venue, children who complete a short survey will receive a complimentary Tachikawa–Ome children's one-way train ticket (first come, first served, limited to 600 tickets). The tickets are valid on either April 11 (Saturday) or April 18 (Saturday), 2026. Note that lost tickets cannot be reissued.

Recommended Spots to Visit in Ome

For families planning to use the free tickets, here are two spots worth visiting in the Ome area.

Ome Railway Park
About 15 minutes on foot from Ome Station, Ome Railway Park is set to reopen on March 21, 2026 — the same day as the event. The renewed park celebrates the history of the Chuo and Ome Lines, welcoming visitors with the 201 series train and three newly added cars.

Machi no Eki Ome (adjacent to Ome Station on the Ome Line)
This local hub carries freshly harvested vegetables, popular bakery breads, local sake, wasabi, honey, and other Ome-made goods. A café inside serves dishes made with locally sourced Ome ingredients — a good stop before or after sightseeing.
