Malaika Knit Factory has opened at T-FACE Toyota (Building A, 3F, Toyota City, Aichi). The store is operated by MALAIKA Co., Ltd. and features an in-store "WHOLEGARMENT®" knitting machine that knits entire garments in 3D — allowing customers to watch a piece of knitwear being made right before their eyes and order a custom knit using yarn of their own choosing.

Semi-Order Knitwear: Choose Your Colors, Made On-Site
Currently, the shop offers four styles: two items — a pullover and a haori wrap — available in two sizes each.
Once you decide which item you'd like, you choose your preferred yarn from a wide range of colors. For summer 2026, 25 colors are available, and because two yarns are held together during knitting, up to 625 color combinations are possible.
The shop also carries MALAIKA's original "kasuri-dye" yarn. Since a single yarn is dyed in multiple colors, different hues and patterns emerge depending on the knit width — meaning no two finished pieces will look exactly alike.
How Your Knit Is Made

Your selected yarn is loaded into the knitting machine.

A knitting pattern is selected and the WHOLEGARMENT® machine starts working.
3. The Knit Takes Shape
A fully three-dimensional garment is knitted in one seamless piece.
4. Finishing
The garment goes through finishing steps including yarn trimming, washing, drying, and labeling.
5. Your Piece Is Ready
A one-of-a-kind knit, unique in all the world, is complete.
From the time an order is placed, the knit can be ready in as little as 3 hours, though timing may vary depending on machine availability.
Cool in Summer, Warm Indoors: A Temperature-Regulating Knit in Premium Merino
The summer lineup uses Super Extra Fine Merino Wool with a fiber diameter of 16.5 microns — comparable to cashmere. Special spinning techniques minimize pilling and reduce any itchiness, making it comfortable to wear directly against the skin.
The fabric is also temperature-regulating: it feels cool and breathable outdoors in summer heat, while providing warmth in air-conditioned indoor spaces. Thanks to a shrink-resistant finish, the garment can be washed at home.
