A pop-up store called "Meisaku Ehon Cookie Tin Selection by Cake.jp" is coming to the Enmusubi-dori Event Space at Shamine Matsue for 12 days, from May 20 (Wednesday) through May 31 (Sunday), 2026. It marks the first time the event has appeared anywhere in the Sanin region.
The pop-up has already attracted large crowds at Tokyo Station's Gransta Tokyo and more than 50 other venues across Japan. At Shamine Matsue, visitors can browse 17 varieties of original cookie tins created in collaboration with picture books loved by generations of readers — including titles such as Lisa and Gaspard, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Nontan, Nenaiko Dare Da, Pan Dorobou, and Ringo Kamoshirenai.
The picture book collaboration cookie tins are one of Cake.jp's most popular product lines, translating the worlds of familiar children's books into sweet form. A key feature: the cookies inside are made without wheat, eggs, or dairy. After the cookies are finished, the charming illustrated tins can be reused as small storage containers, making them a keepsake as well as a treat. They also work well as gifts or souvenirs.
