A pop-up store selling original cookie tins inspired by popular picture books is open at the event space in front of Doutor Coffee at Shamine Matsue for 10 days, from October 26 (Mon.) through November 4 (Wed.), 2026. The store, called "Masterpiece Picture Book Cookie Tin Selection by Cake.jp" (名作絵本のクッキー缶セレクション by Cake.jp), is run by Cake.jp, an online shop specializing in cakes and sweets.
The pop-up has previously been held at more than 50 venues across Japan, drawing many visitors. It features original cookie tins created in collaboration with picture books loved by a wide range of generations, including Gaspard and Lisa (リサとガスパール), The Very Hungry Caterpillar (はらぺこあおむし), Nontan (ノンタン), Nenaiko Dareda (ねないこ だれだ), Pan Dorobo (パンどろぼう), and Ringo Kamoshirenai (りんごかもしれない).
The picture book collaboration cookie tins are a popular series at Cake.jp that expresses the worlds of picture books familiar to children through sweets. The ingredients are carefully chosen, and the cookies are made without wheat, eggs, or dairy. The tins are designed so they can be kept as small-item cases after the cookies are finished, making them gifts that remain as keepsakes.
They suit hand-carried gifts and celebration presents, and can also be enjoyed as a treat that brightens a special everyday moment.
