On July 7, 2019, Tsugaru City, Aomori Prefecture opened "Melon and Roman" in Kagurazaka, Tokyo, as an antenna shop specializing in melons, one of Tsugaru City's specialty products.

"Melon and Roman" is Japan's first melon specialty workshop, born with the "roman" (dream) of making melons a more beloved fruit. The shop aims to widely promote Tsugaru City, which ranks 4th nationally in melon output by municipality (Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries 2023 Municipal Agricultural Output Estimates), through melons.

The shop offers original menu items using seasonal melons from across Japan in both a café and takeout format. With special melon-colored tiles as its symbol, the shop is designed as a space where visitors can experience melons with all five senses - taste, smell, sight, sound, and touch - allowing guests to casually enjoy melons while gaining deeper knowledge about them.
