From the Expo to Hotels and Retailers, and Now a Hot Spring Facility for the First Time
About a year has passed since the Expo closed. The Mirai Ningen Sentakuki, shown at last year's Expo, offered a glimpse of a future bathing experience in which both body and mind are washed automatically. After the Expo closed, Science Co., Ltd. worked to bring the technology out into society rather than keeping it an Expo-only attraction, and the machine is now being introduced in a variety of places, including hotels, condominium salons, and mass retailers.
In October 2026, about a year after the Expo closed, it expands into a hot spring facility for the first time, with public use starting at Ooedo Onsen Monogatari Minoh Onsen Spa Garden. From displays and experiences at the Expo, through introductions at various places in society, it now reaches a hot spring facility that many people visit for the bathing itself. The company says it will continue to create opportunities for more people to experience this bathing of the future in their daily lives.
Mirai Ningen Sentakuki: Body and Mind Washed Automatically With Fine Bubble Technology
The Mirai Ningen Sentakuki is a bathing device that brings back the so-called "human washing machine," which drew attention at the 1970 Expo, 55 years later using Science Co., Ltd.'s Mirable technology. At last year's Expo, it not only cleaned the body without rubbing, but also measured the bather's biometric data and played video and music matched to their condition, delivering a bathing experience of the future.
How to Use the Mirai Ningen Sentakuki
- Reservations: Same-day, first-come, first-served only
- Where to sign up: Bath information counter, 1st floor of Minoh Onsen Spa Garden
- Duration: 90 minutes per slot (the machine runs for 20 minutes per use)
- Price: ¥11,000 per slot (tax included)
- Capacity: 2 to 4 people per reservation (junior high school students and older)
- Hours: 7:30 AM to 10:30 PM (8 slots in total)

Notes
- Advance reservations are not accepted. Sign-ups are first come, first served at the facility on the day.
- Each use runs for 20 minutes, and up to four people can use one slot.
- Extending the usage time is not possible.
- Minors cannot use the machine on their own. A guardian must accompany them.
- Please refrain from bringing in food or drinks.
- For the 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM slot only, advance first-come sign-up is available at the hotel front desk (hotel guests only).
- Minoh Onsen Spa Garden's admission fee is required separately (free for hotel guests).
