Suzuki Herb Laboratory Co., Ltd. announces that the "Kairakuen Plum Hand Cream" will be available for purchase at three locations during the 130th anniversary Mito Plum Blossom Festival, held from February 11 (Wednesday, national holiday) to March 22 (Sunday), 2026. The cream will be sold at two stores, Miharashi-tei and Kado no Mae, as well as at the Japan Post sales booth.
The "Kairakuen Plum Hand Cream" faithfully reproduces the scent of plum blossoms from Kairakuen. It recreates the fragrance of "Shirokaga," one of the plum varieties that blooms from mid-February to late March each year.
Shirokaga is a white, single-petaled plum with an elegant sweet fragrance. It is one of the plum varieties that blooms from mid-February to late March annually.

In 2020, the Ibaraki Tourism and Products Association approached the company about developing a product related to the plum blossoms at Kairakuen in Mito. Eager to contribute, development of this hand cream began. After approximately one year of repeated prototyping, the product was launched in February 2021. The fragrance of Kairakuen's plum blossoms, signaling the arrival of spring, can now be enjoyed anywhere.
The package design features "Omoino-mama," a rare plum variety where white to crimson flowers bloom in various patterns on a single tree trunk. The design embodies the wish that each person can spend their days "as they please" in their own unique way.
