Morinaga Ramune Candy's Plush Mascots Are Now Available as Capsule Toys

Eiko Co., Ltd. (Sumida-ku, Tokyo) is releasing an original "Plush Mascot" collection for Morinaga Ramune Candy as a capsule toy, set to roll out at capsule toy vending machines across Japan.

About Morinaga Ramune Candy

Morinaga Ramune Candy is a beloved Japanese confection known for its fizzy texture and refreshing taste. Small and easy to eat, it dissolves smoothly in the mouth with a pleasant sensation. While it works great as an everyday snack, it contains up to 90% glucose (as hydrated crystalline glucose), making it a popular choice for students and office workers who need to concentrate or get a quick refresh.

The Characters

In spring 2023, Morinaga held a "New Character Election" to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Morinaga Ramune Candy. The winner chosen as the main character is "Ramuneko" — a cat that transforms into a lion-like figure when it eats ramune candy. "Shu-Chu" also features as a sub-character. Both adorable characters, designed by Yuri Yokomizo, now appear on the Morinaga Ramune Candy packaging.
