Starting April 20, MUJI (Mujirushi Ryohin) is rolling out its new "Smooth Satin" (なめらかサテン) series — a collection of roomwear and innerwear made from 100% lyocell satin fabric. The items will be available at MUJI stores nationwide and on its online store.
The series is crafted from lyocell, a naturally derived regenerated fiber sourced from wood pulp produced under sustainably managed forests. In addition to its smooth texture, the material offers good moisture absorption and release, making it comfortable to wear even in summer heat.
100% Naturally Derived Lyocell
The collection uses 100% lyocell — a naturally derived regenerated fiber made from sustainably sourced wood pulp. Its silky feel and moisture-wicking properties make it a practical choice for warm-weather wear.
Seamless Side Seams for Better Sleep (Pajamas Only)
Since people are said to roll over 20 to 30 times during sleep, the pajamas are designed without side seams. This minimizes the sensation of stitching against the skin during the night, helping to reduce sleep disruptions.
Mix and Match with Separate Tops and Bottoms
In response to customer feedback — such as wanting short-sleeved tops paired with full-length pants — the lineup extends beyond sets to include long pants, pullovers, pajama dresses, and more. Items are available for purchase both as sets and individually.
