Zuiganji Temple, a national treasure in Matsushima-cho, Miyagi-gun, Miyagi Prefecture, will hold "NAKED Matsushima: National Treasure Zuiganji Temple Autumn Night Visit" from Friday, October 30 to Monday, November 23 (public holiday), 2026. The event is planned, directed, and produced by NAKED, INC.
This Year's Theme: Moonlight and Stillness
This year's theme is "Moon-Viewing Light-Up," which focuses on the moon and moonlight that Lord Date Masamune loved dearly. The night visit offers a chance to immerse yourself in the history of Zuiganji Temple within a world of light and shadow.
Now in its fifth year, the event has evolved from a presentation centered on viewing into a visit program for learning and experiencing. A new audio guide introduced this year explores the history of the approach and the inside of the national treasure main hall. The program also includes projection mapping created by a local vocational school, the NAKED Distance Lantern, which projects light, and NAKED Hanamikuji, an experiential art omikuji (fortune slip).
