Become a Character in a Mystery at NAMJATOWN's "Tokiwataru Kataei" Event

NAMJATOWN, the indoor theme park in Ikebukuro's Sunshine City, will host "Tokiwataru Kataei," an immersive story experience and exploration mystery event, from March 7 to April 5, 2026. Ticket sales begin February 20, 2026.

The event takes place in Fukubukuro Shichi-chome Shotengai, NAMJATOWN's area recreating a 1950s Japanese street. Participants take on roles as a detective, assistant, or client, investigating a series of mysterious disappearances while exploring the area.

Players gather clues scattered throughout the area and converse with various characters (actors) to piece together the truth. As participants in the story themselves, they experience the unfolding mystery firsthand.

Story Synopsis

People are disappearing in Ikebukuro.

You are investigating this mysterious series of disappearances
as a detective, assistant, or client.

The police have found no leads, and no one has returned.
The missing individuals "vanish without a trace."

As the investigation progresses, it becomes clear this is more than simple disappearances.
Eventually, you step into a different "time" from the present.

There, you face
the truth, and a "choice."

This scenario features multiple endings.

Your Roles

■ Detective

An earnest and honest individual running a detective agency in a corner of Ikebukuro.
Pursuing the "Ikebukuro Serial Disappearance Case," rumored to be like a spiriting away.

■ Assistant

A straightforward and devoted person supporting the detective.
Has been staying at the detective agency for the past six months, accompanying investigations.

■ Client

A mild-mannered person with initiative.
Came to the detective agency to find their partner who disappeared six months ago.

NAMJATOWN opened on July 6, 1996, as an indoor theme park at Sunshine City in Ikebukuro, Tokyo. The park features four areas called "districts," with over 10 attractions and "Namja Gyoza Stadium," where visitors can enjoy gyoza dumplings from around Japan.
