NAMJATOWN Brings Expo 2025's Mysterious Pebbles to Ikebukuro with New Haptic Attraction

NAMJATOWN, the indoor theme park at Sunshine City in Ikebukuro, Tokyo, is hosting a new limited-time attraction called "A mysterious experience attraction guided by stones: Najavu and the Mysterious Pebbles." The event runs from April 24 (Friday) to August 30 (Sunday), 2026.

The attraction centers on the "echorb" haptic device, developed by Murata Manufacturing and MIRAISENS. Using special vibrations, it creates the sensation of being pulled — as though guided by an unseen force. The echorb was previously featured at "Better Co-Being," one of the signature pavilions at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, where it offered an immersive resonance experience through the sense of touch. This marks the first use of the technology in an amusement facility following the Expo's conclusion.

About the Attraction

Visitors hold the echorb device as it guides them to various points around the Fukubukuro Nanachome Shotengai area inside the park. Along the way, they collect clues that lead to a hidden keyword — a park-wide mystery-solving adventure for groups of one to three people.

Highlights

  • Experience the echorb haptic technology in Tokyo's Ikebukuro, first showcased at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan
  • NAMJATOWN is the only venue offering an echorb-powered attraction
  • An intuitive puzzle-solving experience suitable for visitors of all ages

The Story

NAMJATOWN's mascot character, Najavu, has a grandfather named Najaji. While going through Najaji's treasure collection one day, Najavu discovers a mysteriously glowing pebble along with a letter addressed to him.

According to the letter, Najaji and his wizard friend Murata once unearthed "Mysterious Pebbles" with special powers during an excavation. Using those powers, they hid a precious treasure somewhere inside NAMJATOWN. To reach it, seekers must accept the stone's guidance and overcome a series of challenges.

Najavu passes the Mysterious Pebbles to park guests — known as "Festarians" — and asks them to track down the hidden treasure.
