About the NORITAKE Brand

"We want to create beautiful, delicate Western tableware here in Japan."

NORITAKE's history began when Ichizaemon Morimura and his associates, who were exporting Japanese antiques and sundries as trading merchants, witnessed the beautifully decorated European porcelain at the Paris World Exposition in 1889 and made this firm commitment.

In 1904, they constructed a modern factory and began research on dinner sets. After trial and error, they succeeded in manufacturing Japan's first dinner set in 1914.

The Japanese-made dinner sets, primarily exported to the United States, were well received and eventually grew into a globally recognized brand known as "NORITAKE China."

Since then, NORITAKE tableware and ceramic products have been beloved worldwide for their delicate designs that reflect Japanese aesthetics and their high quality and elegance.
