This unique package offers guests an opportunity to experience the origins of Japanese tea culture while enjoying a comfortable stay at the modern hotel.
The tea ceremony will take place at Hokkeji Temple, a historic Buddhist temple renowned for its peaceful grounds, beautiful gardens, and as a representation of "the beauty of nunneries." The temple provides an authentic setting for experiencing traditional Japanese tea culture.
What's Included in the Package
The package includes participation in the tea ceremony at Hokkeji Temple, featuring both thick tea (koicha) and thin tea (usucha), along with traditional light refreshments (tenshin). Guests will have the opportunity to take commemorative photos with the temple's abbess and receive a small protective dog charm (omamori inu) as a souvenir.
Transportation between Novotel Nara and Hokkeji Temple is provided as part of the package. Accommodation includes a Standard Room with breakfast, featuring locally-sourced ingredients from Nara Prefecture. Guests can also upgrade to an Executive Room for an additional ¥6,000 per person.
