Espacio Nagoya Castle (3-19 Hinokuchi-cho, Nishi-ku, Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture) will hold a special New Year program on Friday, January 1 (national holiday) and Saturday, January 2, 2027. The centerpiece is the "New Year Buffet to Welcome the Year With a View of Nagoya Castle" (名城の景色とともに迎えるNEW YEARビュッフェ), served in the Tenshu no Ma (天守の間) banquet hall on the 2nd floor. Alongside it, the hotel is running a café, Japanese culture workshops, lobby events and a New Year stay plan, offering families and friends a relaxed start to the year.
New Year Buffet With a View of Nagoya Castle
The buffet brings together Japanese, Western and Chinese dishes from the hotel's restaurants. Highlights include:
- Specially prepared roast beef
- Ozoni (New Year's mochi soup) from Japanese Cuisine Jo
- Tantanmen noodles from Chinese Cuisine Ryujo NAGOYA CASTLE
- Quiche from THE GARDEN LOUNGE
- Ukai beef pressé (うかい牛プレッセ) from Shoryu by Ukai-tei
- For dessert, the cheesecake "ガトー オー コンテ" from the French restaurant ブリアンス
To close the meal, a pastry chef performs a "dessert flambé" in front of guests, with flames rising and a rich aroma filling the room.

Café Yukei (カフェ悠景) lets guests relax amid art, with Nagoya Castle as the backdrop. The menu features sweets such as nostalgic apple pie and Nagoya Cochin pudding, served with drinks.

New Year Experience Program (January 1 and 2)
Five Japanese Culture Workshops
Five workshops let guests try traditional crafts and artisan techniques, with a keepsake to take home. Reservations are taken on the day.
1. Gold Leaf Application With a Traditional Craftsman (about 60 minutes / ¥5,000)
Guests apply delicate gold leaf under the guidance of a traditional craftsman.
2. Kumiko Making (about 30 minutes / ¥3,000)
Kumiko is a traditional Japanese woodworking technique in which wood is assembled into intricate geometric patterns without using nails.
3. Japanese Kite Making (about 60 minutes / ¥1,000)
Guests make an original Japanese kite using traditional techniques, with the New Year sky in mind.
4. Blooming Calligraphy (about 60 minutes / ¥1,000)
A unique style of calligraphy in which vivid flowers and smiles are drawn into the characters.
5. Tea Ceremony (about 40 minutes / ¥1,000)
Guests experience the etiquette and spirit of the tea ceremony while enjoying a bowl of matcha with a seasonal sweet.
Location Photos
A professional photographer takes New Year portraits at a spot of the guests' choice, such as the hotel's public spaces. Reservations are taken on the day (about 15 minutes, ¥3,000 per group).
Rickshaw Experience
Guests can ride a rickshaw around the 2nd-floor banquet hall floor, take commemorative photos in front of the rickshaw, or try being the rickshaw puller (俥夫). Reservations are taken on the day (about 10 minutes, free).

New Year Stay Plan
The plan is a two-night stay with four meals, including osechi (traditional New Year dishes) for New Year's Day. Rooms come in a variety of styles, such as castle-view, art-collection and hot-spring-collection rooms. Dinner can be chosen from four restaurants in the hotel. Meals include toshikoshi soba (New Year's Eve noodles) on December 31 and a special osechi from Japanese Cuisine Jo on New Year's Day.
