Onsen to Hakko Ofuro Cafe Hakuju no Yu, a day-use hot spring facility in Kamikawa, Kodama District, Saitama Prefecture, operated by Onsen Dojo Co., Ltd. (Tokigawa, Hiki District, Saitama; President Toshiki Yamazaki), will hold an event on Sunday, July 19, 2026, featuring a cutting demonstration and a free kabayaki tasting using domestic eel raised through land-based aquaculture in Kamisato, Saitama.

The eel served at the event is raised at Kamisato halk, a closed-system land-based eel farm. The facility is operated by Hiranuma Suisan Co., Ltd. About Kamisato halk

The facility's nickname, "Kamisato halk," comes from the initials of its four functions: hydroponics, aquaculture, laboratory, and kitchen. The site spans 4,230 square meters with a total floor area of 1,114 square meters, and its six 50-ton tanks give it the capacity to raise up to 90,000 eels. In May 2025, the farm opened an on-site restaurant, where freshly caught, freshly prepared, and freshly grilled unaju have proven popular.
