Kikusuitei Ryokan Hosts Moon-Themed Autumn Experiences in Tokorozawa

Chugoku Kappo Ryokan Kikusuitei, located in Tokorozawa, Saitama, is launching a moon-themed autumn experience called "Kikusui no Tsuki Monogatari" (掬水の月物語), running from September 1 to November 30, 2026.

The ryokan's name is inspired by a line from a Tang dynasty Chinese poem: "掬水月在手" — "when you scoop water, the moon rests in your hands." The moon rising over Tama Lake (多摩湖) is also recognized as one of Japan's 100 Famous Moons (百名月), celebrated for the beauty of its reflection on the water's surface.

Throughout the event, guests can enjoy three distinct moon-themed experiences across the property.

Moon Lodging Plan: Kikusui Moon Story

A special overnight plan called "掬水の月物語 ~月と味わう所沢ステイ~" is available for up to 2 rooms per day. Each room is appointed with a moon light designed to recreate the feeling of scooping the moon from water — serving as a photo spot — along with a moon-viewing set featuring dango and rabbit-shaped wagashi, a tea incense burner using locally grown Sayama tea, and a rabbit towel art arrangement. The dinner course includes moon-inspired dishes and moon-themed drinks.
