As spring returns to Japan, Ofuro Cafe Utatane (おふろcafe utatane) in Saitama City is transforming its interior into a full cherry blossom setting with its "Sakura Cafe" event, currently underway. While the warming weather brings joy for many, it also marks the start of hay fever season — and the event was conceived with that in mind, offering visitors an indoor hanami experience free from outdoor pollen.
Giant Sakura Tree and Indoor Picnic Space
A large decorative sakura tree now stands in the facility's lounge, with artificial grass spread across the floor to recreate the feeling of relaxing in a park in full bloom. Visitors can settle in under the blossoms and enjoy the atmosphere of an outdoor picnic without stepping outside.
A special picnic set is available to make the most of the indoor hanami:

Sakura Mud Pack in the Bath
The men's and women's bathing areas typically offer a complimentary mud pack. During this spring season, it has been given a limited-time upgrade to a "Sakura Mud Pack," infused with a subtle cherry blossom scent for a seasonal skincare experience.

Limited-Time Cafe Menu Featuring Amarin Strawberries from Saitama
The Nordic Cafe & Dining matka inside the venue is offering a limited-run menu spotlighting Amarin (あまりん), a strawberry variety developed in Saitama Prefecture. Amarin is prized for its pronounced sweetness, gentle acidity, vivid red color, attractive sheen, and heart-shaped form. It has taken the top gold prize at the Japan Vegetable Sommelier Association's National Strawberry Competition for three consecutive years. The strawberries used are sourced from Uenoharanouen farm in Yokoze-machi, Saitama Prefecture.
