The autumn tradition of "Autumn Foliage Illumination" has been confirmed for Okuhida Onsen in Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture. The magical nighttime autumn leaves at 1,000m elevation offer a different dimension of beauty that cannot be experienced in urban areas.
In 2025, the illumination will be held at two locations - Shin-Hotaka Onsen and Fukuji Onsen - each offering unique autumn foliage displays for up to 40 days. Enjoy the mystical world created by light and shadow, completely different from the daytime scenery.
Nakao Plateau Illumination (Shin-Hotaka Onsen Area)
Located at approximately 1,000m elevation, Nakao Plateau will illuminate the autumn foliage throughout the highland area.
Enjoy the fantastical illuminated autumn leaves, creating a completely different atmosphere from the daytime.
Event Period: October 1 (Wed) - November 9 (Sun)

Fukuji Onsen Street Illumination
Fukuji Onsen will host street illumination during the autumn foliage season.
The trees along Fukuji Onsen's main street (Henbe-zaka) will be illuminated. Enjoy the gradually changing colors of autumn.
