Pharmacist Experience School for Kids to Be Held at Kanda Pharmacy on May 17

A pharmacist experience event for elementary school children is scheduled for May 17, 2026 (Sunday) at Akebono Pharmacy's Kanda branch in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo. The program is organized by Plus One Education, a subsidiary of the Riso Education Group, as part of its STS (School Tour Ship) hands-on learning series.

Event Overview

The event takes over the entire pharmacy for the day, allowing children to learn directly from a working pharmacist and try authentic pharmacy tasks. Participants will also have time to ask the pharmacist questions, making it a fitting experience for children interested in healthcare careers.

  • Date: May 17, 2026 (Sunday) – day trip
  • Registration deadline: May 13, 2026 (Wednesday)
  • Eligible participants: Elementary school students, grades 1–6 (boys and girls)
  • Venue: Akebono Pharmacy, Kanda Branch, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo
  • Transportation: Participants make their own way to and from the venue
  • Fee: ¥23,100 per child (includes activity fee and travel accident insurance)
  • Capacity: 12 participants (minimum required: 5)
  • Details: Event page

Highlights

1. An authentic career experience guided by a real pharmacist

Children use actual medical equipment inside a working pharmacy, giving them a genuine feel for what pharmacists do day to day. Each participant wears a white coat for the day.

2. Small-group format for personalized support

With only 12 spots available, participants are divided into groups of around 4 to rotate through each activity. The small class size means individual attention is available, and younger students are fully supported throughout.

3. Q&A time with the pharmacist

Beyond hands-on tasks, there is dedicated time to ask the pharmacist questions directly — an opportunity well-suited to children considering a future in medicine or healthcare.
