An update has been released for Puyo Puyo Tetris 2S on Nintendo Switch 2, bringing internet and local communication support to the "Puyo Tetris Doubles" mode — a unique style of play where two players share control of a single field.
Puyo Puyo Tetris 2S is a collaborative title combining the beloved action puzzle games Puyo Puyo and Tetris®. In addition to Puyo Tetris Doubles, the game also supports Nintendo Switch 2 features including mouse controls, camera play, and Share Play.
Puyo Tetris Doubles Mode
Puyo Tetris Doubles is a new mode where two players jointly operate one field. Three rule sets are available: VS, Puyo Tetris Mix, and Party. Since both players each control pieces — whether "Puyo pairs" or Tetriminos — that fall simultaneously, coordination is key to pulling off big chain combos.
Camera Play Support
By using a separately sold USB camera with Nintendo Switch 2, players can have their own image appear within the game screen. In Puyo Puyo Tetris 2S, the camera feed can be set as a background for the field or player icons, or used as the animation for sending "Nuisance Puyo" to opponents. The camera feature adds another layer of fun when playing with family or friends.
Mouse Controls for Intuitive Piece Movement
Using the Joy-Con 2's mouse functionality on Nintendo Switch 2, players can move Puyo and Tetriminos with intuitive mouse-style input. Offline spectators can also participate by using mouse controls to suggest piece placements on the field or support the active player during matches.
Share Play Support
Puyo Puyo Tetris 2S supports Nintendo Switch 2's Share Play feature, allowing players to share the game with others using a single copy. Players in a Game Chat session can also enjoy matches together while chatting. Share Play works with both local and internet communication, so nearby friends and those farther away can all join in.
