RISONARE Atami Holds "Fireworks Christmas" With a Firework-Shell Tree and Candle Holder Making

RISONARE Atami, a resort hotel where sky, sea, and forest color the surroundings, will hold "Fireworks Christmas" (花火クリスマス) from December 1 to 25, 2026. Guests can spend a special evening with Santa Claus in the soft glow of a Christmas tree themed on firework shells. This year, the Christmas tree is made with the kraft paper used for real firework shells, and a new "Firework Shell Candle Holder Making" (花火玉キャンドルホルダー作り) workshop joins the lineup. An original drink inspired by the sparkle of fireworks completes a Christmas unique to RISONARE Atami.

Background

The Atami Sea Fireworks Festival, an icon of Atami, is held more than 10 times a year and reaches its 75th year in 2026, making it a long-running local tradition (according to the Atami City Tourism Association's official tourism site). At RISONARE Atami, guests can watch the fireworks from every guest room, and the hotel uses fireworks as a design theme throughout its spaces, including the Japanese restaurant 和食ダイニング 花火 (Washoku Dining Hanabi). The hotel created this event around fireworks, the symbol of Atami, hoping to give guests a Christmas that stays in their travel memories.

Highlights of Fireworks Christmas

1. "Firework Shell Candle Holder Making" for the Lighting Ceremony - New

Candle holder inspired by a firework shell

In this workshop, participants make a candle holder using the kraft paper that goes into real firework shells. Guests stick colorful paper on the outside and choose ornaments to decorate it, an activity enjoyable for both children and adults. When they bring the finished holder to the lighting ceremony, Santa Claus gives them a candle light to place inside. The soft light from their own creation makes the ceremony even more special.

  • Hours: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Price: ¥2,500 (tax included)
  • Reservation: Not required
