SIKI Garden – The Path of Sounds (hereafter, SIKI Garden), inside ROKKO Forest Sound Museum (ROKKO森の音ミュージアム) operated by Rokko Mountain Tourism Co., Ltd., will hold its Winter Season from December 1 (Tuesday), 2026 to February 28 (Sunday), 2027.
SIKI Garden Winter Season Highlights
Located near the summit of Mount Rokko, SIKI Garden is about 5°C cooler than Kobe's urban area, and on some days visitors can see snowy scenery that is rare in Kobe. Bare deciduous trees, buds of trees waiting for spring, the activity of winter birds, and traces of small wild animals (field signs) offer a close look at Mount Rokko's rich natural winter scenery. (Garden area: 16,010.77 square meters)

Winter Garden
SIKI Garden, where visitors can enjoy the changing seasonal faces of Mount Rokko, has created a Winter Garden. There, visitors can see the contrast between evergreens and snow, tree fruits and flower seeds remaining from autumn, and, in early winter, frost columns that form as frost clings to the dead stems of Shimobashira and Tenninso plants. The shapes of deciduous trees are also on view, including maple and Sangomizuki, whose beautiful branches turn red or yellow in winter. On snowy days, traces of small wild animals (field signs) may also be seen.

Outdoor Art
As the base of "Kobe Rokko Meets Art," a contemporary art festival held every year on Mount Rokko in Kobe, the garden displays outdoor artworks such as Yayoi Kusama's Pumpkin and Yoshitomo Nara's Peace Head throughout the year. In winter, there are days when the works can be viewed dusted with snow.
Enjoy the Sounds
SIKI Garden is called "The Path of Sounds" and features sound exhibits that visitors can touch and enjoy. The sight of exhibits covered in snow, such as the birdhouse-style music box that plays music box melodies when a string is pulled, is also a highlight. Visitors can enjoy tones that blend with the sound of the wind on Mount Rokko and the calls of wild birds that visit in winter.

Relaxation Spots
For a limited time, a kotatsu (heated table) will be set up at the chestnut-tree tree house overlooking SIKI Garden and on the terrace seats of the adjoining Forest Café. At SIKI Dome Forest Library, a transparent dome with 360-degree views (open 10:30 AM – 4:00 PM), staff-selected picture books, art books, and more on a winter theme will be available. Inside the warm dome and in the relaxation spaces around it, visitors can spend a leisurely time while sensing the presence of nature.
*Food and drinks cannot be brought into SIKI Dome Forest Library.
