The Kadokawa Musashino Museum (Director: Akira Ikegami / Operated by: Kadokawa Culture Promotion Foundation) will host "Ryoma & Ukiyo-e RE:BORNS Immersive Concert" on Sunday, March 1, 2026. This one-night-only special event features violinist Ryoma (Ryoma Quartet) and artists performing live music within the Immersive Digital Art Theater: Ukiyo-e RE:BORN – The Spirit of Edo and Timeless Japonism venue.
Experience Projection Mapping and Live Performance with Your Whole Body

Ukiyo-e was the media of the Edo period and served as a platform to quickly disseminate information about travel, trends, fashion, popular actors, and notable geishas—much like today's social media. The Immersive Digital Art Theater: Ukiyo-e RE:BORN – The Spirit of Edo and Timeless Japonism transforms these artworks into an immersive experience by projecting them onto the 360-degree walls and floor of a massive space exceeding 1,000 square meters using more than 30 projectors. The music enveloping the venue consists of original compositions written specifically for the exhibition by violinist Ryoma, who leads the Ryoma Quartet. Strings and piano are joined by traditional Japanese instruments and chorus, along with sound effects, creating an auditory journey back to the Edo period.
In this event, members of "Ryoma & Ukiyo-e RE:BORNS," formed specifically for the exhibition, will perform live music synchronized with approximately 30 minutes of visuals. The powerful imagery and music will unite to envelop the venue. Rather than seated viewing, visitors will be able to walk around and explore the exhibition space while enjoying the performance. Experience this special space where technology and tradition converge with your whole body.
Following the live performance, there will be a talk session where Ryoma shares his thoughts on working on this project. Additionally, an after-party will be held exclusively for attendees as a post-performance event. This is a rare opportunity to mingle with Ryoma and the performers while enjoying light refreshments and drinks.
The event is scheduled to be broadcast on Nico Nico Live and other platforms. Viewing is free, and you can enjoy the live performance and talk session. Details will be announced on the official event website and Kadokawa Musashino Museum's official social media once finalized.
