A new tea collection blending Japanese tea leaves with Sanrio Characters has arrived at Edogoshiya, the personal gift confectionery brand run by Yoshimura Co., Ltd. (Shinagawa, Tokyo; representative: Takao Hashimoto). The "Sanrio Characters Japanese Flavored Tea" is a collaboration between Edogoshiya and Sanrio Co., Ltd., and it is now available ahead of schedule through the Edogoshiya online store and select pop-up events.
A nationwide general release is planned to begin September 7 (Monday).
Lineup
Eight flavors in total, all made using Japanese-grown tea leaves. Each blend is designed to capture the mood and personality of a different character.

Drip Tea Bags That Let the Aroma Bloom
Each pack of the Sanrio Characters Japanese Flavored Tea contains two drip tea bags. The bags are designed with room for the tea leaves to unfurl, so steeping for one to two minutes (timing varies by tea type) draws out the full aroma and flavor.
How to Brew
- Tear open the top of the bag along the perforated line.
- Pull out the white hook on the drip tea bag and hang it on the rim of a mug or teacup.
- Pour in about 150ml of hot water and let it steep for about two minutes.
- Gently swirl the bag in the water two to three times before removing it.
